WHISTLING IN A GRAVEYARD

"It's like whistling in a graveyard. You try to make light of something because it scares you."

That quote comes from legendary sitcom writer David Lloyd, who passed away today. It was spoken by the character Lou Grant on the classic show, "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" in perhaps its most famous episode, "Chuckles Bites the Dust."

I think that quote is apropos to what I'm doing with this project. It certainly applies to classic horror-comedies, don't you think?

Just a reminder that this blog is about to launch into warp-speed. I'll be reviewing Laurel & Hardy's "The Live Ghost" tomorrow, followed by a 9-day countdown to the Boris Karloff blogathon. During the run-in to the blogathon, I'll be posting all sorts of fun Boris rarities. Then on November 23rd, the official start of the Karloff blogathon I'll begin a 7-day series covering his horror-comedies. Keep checking in for more ghostly fun... and keep whistling in graveyards!
